QUALITY ENGINEER

The Position

 

The CP Medical Quality Engineer is responsible for leading and executing continuous improvement projects and product qualification and validation for our line of wound closure and specialized surgical products.  Provides leadership for risk mitigation balancing the needs of patients, customers and regulatory requirements.   Works on the production floor facilitating hands-on solutions for quality issues.  Participates in the maintenance of our Quality database.  Serves as the chair for the Materials Review Board providing leadership and expertise.  Currently represents the Quality area as CP Medical plans a full ERP implementation.  Develops and provides product specifications, educates suppliers and is responsible for annual supplier evaluations.  Serves as the lead Quality Engineer.

 

 

 

The Requirements:

 

·         BS in engineering or related field; and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an FDA-regulated, manufacturing environment.  Requires proven knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment for medical products.

 

·         Must have knowledge and experience with ISO 13485 or 9001.

 

·         Additional coursework or certifications in related quality areas such as TQM, Quality Auditing, Project Management, Lean Enterprise, and Six Sigma highly desirable.

 

·         Must be knowledgeable of statistical sampling techniques and principles.

 

·         Experience in product sterilization, desirable.

 

·         Expert level MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)

 

·         Demonstrated skill in project management.

 

·         Proven attentiveness to details and accuracy.

 

·         Effective daily organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet commitments and deadlines.

 

·         Proven ability to analyze situations and solve problems to resolution.

 

·         Concise, credible communication skills using all forms of communication (verbal, written, formal and electronic).  Must be a clear and precise communicator with technical and non-technical people at all levels of the organization.

 

·         Must be able to influence others to take action.
