SILK    Braided Natural Silk Non-Absorbable Suture

DESCRIPTION

Silk is a braided nonabsorbable, sterile surgical suture composed of an organic protein called fibroin. This protein is derived from the domesticated species Bombyx mori (B. mori) of the family Bombycidae.

Silk suture exhibits:

•  Smooth flow through tissue while maintaining optimal knot security

TENSILE STRENGTH

While Silk suture is not absorbed, progressive degradation of the proteinaceous silk fiber in vivo may result in a gradual loss of the suture tensile strength over time.

Silk is available in various USP sizes.  Silk is supplied in various lengths affixed to various needle types in one (1) dozen boxes. Three dozen suture boxes available on customer request.
