Fast-Absorbing, Braided, Coated, Polyglycolic Acid (PGA), Synthetic Absorbable Suture
Visorb Quick® is a fast absorbing, coated, braided polyglycolic acid, synthetic absorbable, sterile surgical suture composed of a 100% polymer made from polyglycolic acid. The undyed suture is milk white in color.
Fast absorbing polyglycolic acid is intended to model the performance of collagen (surgical gut) suture.
Subcutaneous tissue implantation studies of coated Visorb Quick® sutures in rats show that after 7 days post implantation, approximately 54% of the original tensile strength remains. Intramuscular implantation studies in rats shows that the absorption of these sutures occurs thereafter and is essentially complete by 42 days.
Absorption begins as a loss of tensile strength without appreciable loss of mass. Absorption of Visorb Quick® sutures is essentially complete in 42 days.
Visorb Quick® sutures are available in various USP sizes.
Visorb Quick® is supplied in a wide range of lengths affixed to a diverse assortment of needle types in one dozen boxes. Three dozen suture boxes available on customer request.
